A unique mixology experience is set to unfold at Alila Kothaifaru Maldives as the resort partners with renowned mixologist Dirk Hany, host and co-owner of Zurich’s award-winning Bar am Wasser. From 10th to 14th March 2026, the celebrated “doctor cocktail” will bring his signature craft to the Maldives for an exclusive series of masterclasses, sunset sessions and immersive bar takeovers.

Set against the tranquil backdrop of the Indian Ocean, the programme will unfold across the resort’s signature venues, combining world-class mixology with Alila’s philosophy of thoughtful luxury and meaningful guest experiences. Guests will be invited to discover Dirk Hany’s refined cocktail artistry, where precision, creativity and storytelling come together in every creation.

The experience begins with an intimate masterclass at Umami, offering guests a behind-the-scenes look at the techniques and inspiration behind Hany’s acclaimed cocktails. This will be followed by sunset bar takeovers at Mirus Bar, where his signature creations will be served in a relaxed yet elevated island setting.

Among the highlights is the exclusive Shack Sundowner, a seaside experience pairing expertly crafted cocktails with curated bites against sweeping ocean views. The week will conclude with the Sapor in Tavola pairing dinner at Pibati Sul Mare, where Hany’s cocktails will be carefully matched with a refined culinary menu, creating a sensory dining journey that celebrates balance and innovation.
