Visit Maldives Corporation (VMC), in partnership with the International Halal Tourism Organization (IHTO) Maldives, participated in the Muslim Travel Show 2026, held from 7th to 8th February 2026 at ExCeL London, reaffirming the Maldives’ commitment to positioning itself as a premier destination within the global halal tourism ecosystem.
Recognised as Europe’s leading exhibition dedicated to the Muslim travel segment, the Muslim Travel Show provided VMC with a focused and influential platform to engage with international markets. Featuring over 200 exhibitors, the event offered direct access to high spending Muslim travellers, specialised trade buyers, and key global tourism stakeholders.
The Maldives’ participation was guided by a comprehensive strategy aimed at enhancing destination visibility while ensuring unified branding across international halal tourism platforms. Through this high-profile presence, VMC sought to position the Maldives as an official, credible, and halal-friendly destination, while strengthening relationships with priority source markets including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Malaysia, and key European Muslim travel segments.
The event facilitated direct engagement with more than 100 leading halal-friendly travel brands, influencers, and specialised trade partners, supporting long-term market growth and alignment with international halal tourism standards through collaboration with the International Halal Tourism Organization (IHTO).
VMC’s participation was further distinguished by a high-level visit from H.E. Dr. Iruthisham Adam, High Commissioner, and Mr. Mohamed Ahmed, Deputy High Commissioner. Their presence underscored the strategic importance of the global halal tourism market and reflected the Government of Maldives’ commitment to strengthening diplomatic relations and tourism cooperation.
During the visit, it was noted that the Maldives continues to enjoy strong global demand as a premier travel destination, with increasing interest from travellers seeking the exclusive, high-end experiences for which the islands are internationally renowned.
As the only organisation officially representing the Maldives at this specialised exhibition, VMC leveraged its market expertise and established international partnerships to ensure the destination remains prominently positioned at the forefront of the global halal tourism industry.
